This was a tasty surprise. We started with a special, fish tacos, for our appetizer. They were delicious. I had the sesame crusted salmon salad which was tasty although a bit light on the salmon. My girlfriend has mussels and she liked them. We also had some of their sangria which was good, not too sweet. Very limited seating and parking in this shopping center is not the best.

Note: the food however is still the best in the area, unfortunately and disappointed this evening we ate elsewhere. Not all stories have a happy ending. We are regulars here and learned a valuable truth about the services. We (two of us) walked in at just past 5, 4 center tables and 1 corner table empty. The hostess ask where we would like to sit, we gestured to the corner. From across the room, the server in that section hollered, turning the heads of the other patrons "That's my last big table, they can sit there!" Surprised, and very much embarrassed by this behavior, we left the restaurant. We have sent countless number of our friends to this location , it is still a GEM in the Boca Raton area. if this is how the business treats the regulars, god forbid a first timer to would experiance this. Be aware, if the Owner is not in the building, the service can surprise you! Local Foodies L

I'm giving this one 3 stars because: 1) there is a sharing charge because we only ordered one flatbread, which they told us about only AFTER we had drinks and ordered our meal. 2) the flatbreads came out luke warm. 3) I wanted a house wine, but they were out of that, so I had to get another wine I didn't really want. On the plus side, the flatbreads had generous amounts of fresh toppings. However we will likely not return.

I have been to DD Flats a few times in the past couple months. Its a spot that most people would miss, squeezed in between other random shops in a strip mall in Boca. It is a nice place worth stopping in for at least lunch. The dishes we have tried have been excellent Italian dishes. More often we get the 12 at 12. Its a lunch special with a wrap or panini or flatbread. It comes with a beverage, soup and a small desert. The house wines are very good. I have tried a few of the reds and was not disappointed. The ambiance is of a Italian cafe. They make the best of their location, but you wont be fooled that you are in the Italian country side. Our waitress forgot a few things, and we were one of the only tables but what are you going to do. If in the area, and want a bite and glass of wine, this is a good spot

I had the best salad I've ever had here at lunchtime today. It was my first time there, though I've passed by it many times. The two gals that were working the lunch shift were TERRIFIC!! My waitress was a real sweetheart - very attentive and it was actually because of her that I had the salad because she recommended it. It is not on their normal menu and was a daily special. The salad had sesame crusted rare tuna on a bed of kale and greens with strawberries, blackberries, feta cheese and tomatoes and a berry vinaigrette. It was amazing!!!! I can't wait to go back again and try more items on their menu. I was so pleasantly surprised by DD Flats. Definitely a keeper.

We went to DD Flats for lunch. It wasn't too crowded which was surprising because we found the restaurant welcoming. We were greeted immediately upon our arrival. Our waiter was Derek (I believe). He was attentive to our needs. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time. I had the Asian chicken wrap. The ingredients tasted fresh and it was delicious. I liked the little touch of a chocolate on the plate for when you finished your meal. We will return when we are next in the area.

3 couples all enjoyed our visit. I had Penne pasta with shrimp, mushrooms and onions. Several had flatbreads. The petite salad was more generous than the name implied. Friend had the Caesar salad with steak and will be my lunch choice next visit but I'll decline the anchovies. VERY reasonably priced. Small restaurant with maybe 10 tables. Sitting in front y door not recommended on a cold or hot night. Fortunately it was December mild in the 70's. Reservation was accepted and honored for our group of six at a round table. We will definitely be back.

We discovered this Wine Bar while walking through the shopping center. The place looked casual . After. being seated , we were pressured to order fast . I am a vegan and Asked if their prices on g flatbread would be less without the-cheese and meat. I started with. cup of soup that came straight out of microwave . so hot , it took 10 minutes for it to cool down . Our server was snide and almost rude, i forming me that no substitutions could be made. The chef overheard and offered to accommodate me . I ordered a flatbread garlic basil , spinach n mushrooms . it was served burnt . The server took the burnt flatbread , no apology, And 15 minutes later returned with another flatbread , this time marginally burnt, tomato sauce , tomatoes , olives and mushrooms. It was horrible, but like anyone else when your hungry , you just suck it up! My partner had a panini the bread was awful ,and had flavor , when the bill came for 41 dollars , 16 for a horrible flatbread , I was not happy! As a restauranteur and a chef , i was totally disappointed ! I would not recommend this cafe, its overpriced and with marginal service . Olive oil was a cheap blend.

A chef with 40 years of kitchen time, 24 in his own places. It's a small place, and the menu may seem a bit pricey but it's definitely quality over quantity. Service is excellent with two in wait staff and 15 tables. The shrimp salad was perfect, with shrimp poached perfectly and the right balance in the ingredients so there is no overkill. The flatbreads are equally masterful and presentation is a stone cold 10.

Gave DD Flats another try with friends tonight. Our waitress had an attitude from the first moment that she arrived at the table and it went downhill from there. We wanted to order a plain pasta dish for my wife so started to tell the waitress and she immediately over talked us with a negative response before even listening to what we wanted to order. The place was 3/4 empty so the chef certainly was not over worked. The attitude continued. We were switched to Josh who served us the remainder of the evening. Once again, food was good and fairly priced except for the $3.00 charge for a cup of hot water ( we did not bring our own tea bag ). We will not return to DD Flats. They just do not care enough about their customers.

Service and food get 5 stars! Pricing here is higher than it should be, and for that, I'd like to dock them a half of a point, but can't give a 4.5. For the details -- Pam, our server, was the only person running the dining room. When we walked in, she told us that she was the only one working today and that she would do her best to be attentive, but asked us for patience. I LOVED how up front and honest she was, giving us an opportunity to leave if we were in a hurry. We weren't in a hurry, so we were fine to be patient, but honestly, she handled the place like she owned it! I mean, we never had to wait any longer than we would have expected if there was another person working with her. She was personable, friendly, attentive -- I can't say enough about how great she was! Now for the food -- All tables receive pita chips and hummus. The pita chips are the super thin style, and the hummus was some sort of herb hummus. Both were great! Not sure if I was just extra hungry, but if I had been in private I would have licked the hummus bowl clean! The Parisian flatbread was soooooooo good! The flatbread was made on the super thin bread, just like the pita, and this particular flatbread really rocked it! It was layered with caramelized onions, brie, pine nuts, and a grape here and there. The flatbread could actually be ordered as an appetizer if you've got 2-3 people who want to try it. Otherwise, it's plenty for a meal. The Shrimp Po Boy says it's spicy, but if you're not into spicy food...seriously, don't worry. It was blackened shrimp, but not spicy at all. The Po Boy was not presented on traditional Po Boy French bread, but was instead presented nicely on a homemade panini bread with onions and peppers, and came with a side salad with onions, tomatoes, and lettuce in a vinaigrette. We loved the vibe here. Pam was great, the food was great, but as I said, it was a bit overpriced. Be sure to look for a coupon though. They have coupons in area mailers, and also online if you pay by cash. It'll save you some dough. Our total bill for the two of us, after saving $7.50 with a coupon, was $36.00 including tip. That's pretty steep for two lunch entrees and an iced tea. If you want to splurge, eat here!

I went here for lunch to try one of their flat breads and was very satisfied. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. They even have the food network on the plasma televisions on the walls. I ordered the Romano ($16) and it was HUGE. Seriously, this could easily be shared between two people or a great dinner, but was larger than necessary for lunch. It had about 20 meatballs (half sized) spread out with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses on a wonderful grilled flat bread. This is a wonderful cafe for locals in the Boca Raton area and worth the drive if you have not been here.

Stopped here on a road trip - Pretty small place - ordered a salad and added chicken, however; the chicken smelled and tasted like gas from the grill. We sent it back and received another order of chicken, which also smelled and tasted like gas. We heard the cook in the kitchen telling our server that "it's chargrilled chicken what did they want?" ... Well sir we wanted our chicken to not smell like gas. Thank you. The salad itself was good and fresh and we also ordered the Parisian flatbread, which was pretty good as well although the grapes could have been cut thinner as to not overwhelm the rest of the flatbread. The taste of the cashews mixed with the caramelized onion was pretty intriguing and we enjoyed it very much....however probably would never go back.

I'm surprised they haven't expanded into a big location! This place is soooooooo good! I haven't been in a whole but I need to go! The decor, plates, food and service is fabulous! It's small and quaint and I love it!!! I found it by accident, I was going into TooJays with my mom and we just were not feeling the vibe and so we checked out Flats right next door and we were sooooo happy with it!

The wife and I had a wonderful dinner here, complete with refreshing sangria, delicious food, and a good cup of coffee, made with incredibly fresh and complex subtlety of great ingredients. She attempted to finish a bountiful and delicious tuna salad special, while I opted for the chix bbq flatbread( think pizza but gourmet). The fresh fruits covering desert were bursting with flavor! Really a great meal with great service and personality from our knowledgable waiter Derrick.

I haven't eaten here yet, but I plan to. This is a cute wine bar that is close to my house, which is great because I can avoid going downtown, having to find parking, etc. The wine selection is good, ended up splitting a bottle of Ruta 22 malbec. The atmopshere is nice and casual, and it's located far enough away from the Publix in this plaza so that it doesn't feel you're at a strip mall. The menu selections did look good, so I'll have to come back and try a few.

We've been meaning to get here for a couple of years. This week, we finally made it to DD Flats, whose shopping plaza location may go unnoticed due to the number of surrounding stores and eateries. While its space is somewhat small in area (seating for about 30 guests), the overall dining experience is quite big. First things first, is the menu. I love a lot of options and DD Flats has just that. There must be at least 60 different items ranging from appetizers to pastas, but the biggest section of the menu is the Flatbreads. There are about two dozen and each one sounds better than the next. The flatbreads, along with the rest of the dishes listed, are all gourmet and composed of lovely ingredients- fresh vegetables, fine cheeses, and a variety of proteins. It is quite evident in the cuisine that there is a high level of culinary expertise in the kitchen. Chef David Himmel, who is also the owner along with his wife, Danielle (hence the "DD"), isn't the only one to give kudos to. It's actually a family affair- David's mother in law is the pastry chef in addition to assisting with other preparations, like creating a different flavor of hummus each day to serve with the complimentary bread. Our server was happy to provide us with this information and give us further insight about this unique establishment. One key element that won me over is that the dough for the crust is Chef David's own recipe and as a matter of fact, they bake all of their own breads on site. Another is their sauces, like the wasabi aioli accompanying the ahi tuna sliders, added were made to perfectly complete each bite. There is no detail of any dish that is lacking finesse, making me believe that there really isn't a poor choice when it comes to the DD Flats menu. Chef David has done a fine job of taking his initial concept of developing a wine bar with a menu and turning it into a cozy restaurant that can be thoroughly enjoyed, even without the vino- take it from me, I was sipping on the refreshing, brewed Mango iced tea all night! Next time, whether I am catching up with a girlfriend over lunch or doing dinner with a group, I hope to dive into a bottle off of DD Flats' reasonable wine list, as well as save room for dessert (white chocolate croissant bread pudding-mmmm)! Side note: We used a discount so that certainly helped with bring the price point to a more than fair value!

They server a hummus spread and crackers to start.. We ordered Bake Brie with Raspberries for an App. Then we had two Spinach Green Salads, one with Steak and Portobello Mushrooms added. Service is good and the food is always made fresh. I just wish they would stick to the cheese hummus instead of some of the weird types they make.

Cozy little place in the Polo Shoppes. Really love the flat breads they serve. Owner shops 2x a day for fresh ingredients and it shows! My fav is the Tuscan. DD Flats is definitely not a cheap lunch but the food is amazing. Portobello FRIES! Huge slices of portobello mushrooms, in tempura batter, deep fried, and served with a horseradish dipping sauce. Oh... My.., Gawd! Their flatbreads are an eclectic mix of thin crispy pizzas topped with anything from skirt steak and chimichurri to seared tuba and sesame wasabi glaze. Some of them cost as much as a pizza but one bite will tell you it's worth it. We usually get 3 or 4 different ones and pass them around the table til everyone is full. I've been going here for a couple of years but it seems noone else has ever heard of them because everyone I bring is a first timer. Give it a shot. Just remember to stop by an ATM first, cash gets a discount.

The waiters are great with the wine pairing. Service is prompt and attentive. Can get crowded as it is small, but out door tables are available as well.

Good wine and good flatbreads. Wish the manager Linda wasn't rude to my family and I, but the waiter saved the night for us.

The food is amazing. The service is great but just at the tip of overbearing. I've brought clients here for lunch multiple times. It's a little pricey but totally worth it. The salmon salad with strawberries is a go to favorite.

(5)Chad D.

(4)Tom S.
They server a hummus spread and crackers to start.. We ordered Bake Brie with Raspberries for an App. Then we had two Spinach Green Salads, one with Steak and Portobello Mushrooms added. Service is good and the food is always made fresh. I just wish they would stick to the cheese hummus instead of some of the weird types they make.

gross - ordered several items for take out, the salmon salad was made with rotten fish, totally disgusting. NEVER going back

Just remember to stop by an ATM first, cash gets a discount.

gross - ordered several items for take out, the salmon salad was made with rotten fish, totally disgusting. NEVER going back

Cozy little place in the Polo Shoppes. Really love the flat breads they serve. Owner shops 2x a day for fresh ingredients and it shows! My fav is the Tuscan. The waiters are great with the wine pairing. Service is prompt and attentive. Can get crowded as it is small, but out door tables are available as well.
